Full course description
CIRCAA is a practical, case-based, interprofessional learning experience that advances age-friendly and person-centered care. The curriculum is guided by the Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) competencies, as well as discipline-specific competencies, and the Hartford Foundation’s “4Ms” Framework for age-friendly health systems. The program aims to improve care for complex older adults by enhancing the capacity of clinicians and educators to affect patients, learners, and team members.
Monthly Meetings & Retreats
This program includes monthly seminars (some in-person and some virtual), two in-person overnight retreats, independent study, a quality improvement project, and an optional conference in April. Scholars must attend at least 70% of the meetings.
Quality Improvement Project
Learners will work with Virginia Geriatric Education Center (VGEC) mentors and their fellow Scholars on a Quality Improvement Project over the course of the program. Scholars will develop, implement, and evaluate an interprofessional curricular or practice-based quality improvement project action plan, incorporating the content and experience provided by the program.
Applications for this program will be accepted through September 9th. Visit https://vcoa.chp.vcu.edu/programs/vgec/circaa/ for more information and to apply.
